Five Finds Friday (a couple of Emma’s photos & an incredible dinner)

FUNNY

Today at a birthday gathering for London – who hits THIRTEEN – she was blowing out her candles when a younger friend announced with enthusiasm, “London – now you can watch PG-13 movies!”

FASHIONABLE

Isn’t this dress Piper is wearing just too cute?

We found it at Land’s End on clearance.

Also – these last two shots are from some that Emma took while we were at the farm.

Oh goodness, you guys.

I’ll share the rest soon.  They are just SO sweet.

FLAVORFUL

For my upcoming birthday I bought myself a little present.

Because that’s what I do.

Amazon Prime was going all crazy promoting this contraption called The Instant Pot.  (I promise, I’ll share a post about this one soon.  It’s THAT good.)  I am sorry to say that if you click that little link, you will not be finding the amazing deal I found on the pot.  That deal was a one-day only special.

But with that magical little pot I branched out into a delicious dinner option, into worlds new to me and mine.

Chicken Tikka Masala.

It was SO easy with that Instant Pot and it was so delicious and so different from anything I normally cook.

I did have to buy a handful of spices my spice rack has never housed before but I’d say it was totally worth it.

All but one child at my table had a second serving!

I had some leftovers for lunch today and I am still a fan.

FAITHFUL

This blog post about waiting is so good.

Because aren’t we all finding ourselves at all the times waiting on some aspect in our lives?

I like how the author and the poet he quotes talk about being incomplete while waiting, but accepting that aspect of waiting, accepting that feeling of anxiousness.

Maybe this is what it means to be alive: longing.
There’s always something I’m looking for, and sometimes I find it.
But often I don’t.

FEELS

Yeah, this week I had ALL THE FEELS.

But not the good feels.

Oh my word.

It’s been a while since I have accidentally physically hurt myself in any sort of serious manner.

But this week, I made up for all that good health and non-tripping.

My kitchen stove has no fan or vent or anything.  Cooking anything steamy is always a problem and always leads to moisture and eventually dust collects and dirt abounds and anyway, I decided to wipe down the wall behind the stove.  I stood on a stool and leaned over the stove.  I couldn’t quite reach the entire wall that way.

No problem.  I’ll just balance my left leg on the stove top.

Here we go.

Obviously I had forgotten something incredibly important.

Not very many minutes ago I had been cooking on that very same stove top that my left leg was now pressing hard against.

It’s miracle I somehow hopped down from that stove and across the stool and onto the kitchen floor with the speed at which I did.

I seriously burned my LEG on the stovetop.

Who does that?
