That Plexus Review

Confession:

I stink at follow through right now.

(I say right now to pretend that this won’t be a problem in my future.  To imply that I have this issue under future control.)

So.  Here I am.  I don’t even know how many days later, writing about my Plexus experience.

Day One

I drank the pink drink around 2:30 in the afternoon.  We had a late lunch and my friend had suggested post lunch for consumption if I was hoping for afternoon energy.  (And – I really am.  I have never been a coffee drinker so when fellow mothers claim their lifeline to be the caffeine found in coffee, it’s a foreign language they are speaking to me.)

The drink looked weird.  Pink is not entirely natural I decided.

(Then, I looked it up.  You know, to see what I was drinking.  After I drank it. The color is derived from beet extract.  No artificial coloring.  Oh – well, okay.  Natural points for the color.  Good to know.)

The drink tasted like …… fizz.  (I dislike fizz.  I know – I don’t care for caffeine in coffee form or caffeine in soda form.)  But this drink tasted just like fizzy flavored water.  (Oh – I also don’t care for flavored water.  Yikes.  I sound picky.  I’m not.  I promise.  I just like water.  Water and lemonade.  That’s all really.  And limeade.  Maybe some cider occasionally.  A little orange juice.)   The kids tried samples and they loved the fizz.  They also love those vitamin C drinks – like Emergen-C, you know?

The packaging actually said to drink this before lunch and had I done that I might have eaten less lunch because it really did leave a sort of odd taste in my mouth on this first day.

Day Two

Again, I forgot to drink this at the same time as the day before.  (Sure, you notice a trend already.  You can say it.  I can take it.)

Bergen mixed it up for me and I headed to the car for our errands with the full cup.  I spilled plenty of it on my arm as I hustled the kids to the car, already late, of course.

Bergen had been generous with the water but it still tasted like medicine I was forcing myself to swallow.  Again, the kids shared a few sips and found it delicious.

Day Three

Guess what?  You’ll never believe it.

I forgot again until early afternoon.

Today it didn’t seem to taste nearly as bad.  (But I still wouldn’t declare it delicious.)  My friend was visiting and she tried it and didn’t make any of the odd faces I make while drinking it.  She said it tasted like fruit flavored water.

Day Four

I just totally forgot.

Day Five – and every other day following

Some days I forgot.

Some days I did not.

Confession:

I’m really bad at this.  I am sorry.

Here’s the truth friends.

I have gotten used to the flavor of the drink.

I researched the ingredients of the drink and find them to be acceptable.

It is hard for me to remember daily taking vitamins, drinking beverages, applying face lotion.  Maybe I don’t have enough routines.  Maybe I have too many things to think about.  Maybe I am inconsistent.  Maybe I switch up my schedule too often.

I don’t know.

Which makes me perhaps a poor subject to study.

I’m still drinking the pink drink.  When I remember.

Have I received more energy from the drink?

Ugh.

I want to say yes.

Like – I’d really like to say yes.

But I don’t know.

I don’t think I can say no entirely.

Because some days it does seem to be evening and I think to myself, “Hey, I didn’t hit that four o-clock slump where I just want to sit down and not get up until someone has fixed me dinner.  And served me dinner.  And cleaned up that dinner.  Then I’ll get up.  To go to bed.”

I can’t say definitively that the energy has come from the pink drink.

But I can’t say it hasn’t.

Which, honestly, is why I plan to keep trying to be more routine about drinking it and more observant about the results.

Which is why this is probably the sorriest review a person has ever written.

It may be sorry, for sure, but it is honest.

At any rate, thus has been my Plexus experience to date.

I will do my best to update you guys in the future if my energy levels are off the charts or if I start to love cleaning or if I grow a third eye.  You know, anything unusual.
