weekend options.

I cannot believe that I didn’t get a post up Monday.

But then again, I can.

I was pretty sleepy.

It was a big weekend.

And ain’t nobody paying me to type on this here blog

so sometimes I am just forced to make grown-up choices

between caring for my many children or ignoring them to write a blog post.

Every event this weekend deserves its own post.

(And maybe I will indulge myself and do that later this week.)

I could write about London and Mosely’s big Friday night.

Their first play.

Followed by their first violin recital.

Or I could write about this kid’s big Friday night.

And how his big story

ended

with me cruising the aisles of Wal-Mart

at midnight

purchasing a new one of these.

I could write about how planets had to align in order to arrange babysitting for our band of kids

so that Kevin and I could head south for a Saturday night/Sunday adventure.

I could write about our perfect day with Amy and Tyler from start to finish.

Start:

A morning run with Amy.

She’s such a great motivator.

But even pregnant, Amy can out run me in her sleep.  (That sentence is really mixed and weird.)

Middle:

An Atlanta Braves game.

Pre-game, I could not name one single Braves player.

Post-game, check this out.

Jones.  Heyward.  McLough.

That’s three.  And I didn’t use Goggle or anything else.  (Which is why those names might be inaccurate.)

Avett Brothers on stage following the game.

I love this band.  They played two of my favorites of theirs.

I was immensely satisfied.

Finish:

Brick Store restaurant in Decatur, Georgia.

Seriously.

The weather was lovely.

The company was outstanding.

I am not overusing the word “perfect”.

I could write about all those things.

And I guess I sort of did.

Sounds like a great weekend! I'm somewhat jealous…I've not seen Tyler & Amy in years. They are such great people! And thanks for being a trooper and having my little man hang out with you guys despite your fatigue. The Wood family appreciates your weekly service to our family!

      Um.
Wait – is now the right time to confess I am not so much a fan as an opportunist?
And the opportunity to enjoy time with my husband and good friends and hear the Avett Brothers pulled me much more strongly than the Braves?

      Nah – I won't confess that now.
      Maybe later.

It's all good. I started out an opportunist and ended up a fan. And I won't confess that I'm not cool enough to know who the Avett Brothers are.

It's totally acceptable to confess that.

          This is a safe place.

When you have a few seconds to spare -hehe – you should check them out on iTunes or whatever form of acquiring music exists.
