Like Mother Like Daughter

As if we need further evidence that Piper Finnian Willow Lacey is my daughter indeed.

But here it is just the same.

I do not actually care for Oreo cookies. (gasp.)

Not the traditional black and white numbers anyway.

But ever since some genius in marketing over at the Oreo cookie factory brainstormed the idea of the Golden Oreo, I have been hooked.

I could eat the entire bag.

I try not to buy them when I will be alone.

(I know my own weaknesses – okay?)

My favorite part of the Oreo is the white cream center.

I have long joked that there would be one simple way to know if I have ever become really foolishly wealthy.

And that way would be that I would buy a bag of Oreos and I would only eat the white insides and just carelessly toss the useless shell.

Extravagant, needless waste.

Well. Apparently it is genetic – this dream of mine.

At a recent Wednesday Night Gathering I saw a suspicious line of empty cookie shells lined up at our table.

Upon investigation, I discovered this . . . .

I actually did that when I was little with regular oreos, but I hid the cookie part behind a large desk that my dad had built. It was huge and it wasn't moved for vacuuming. My parents were puzzled by the big mound of brown dust when we moved! I didn't fess up until years later!

    Dear Lacey,
I love it when you post videos!
I also love that you worked a slight behavior redirection into a happy video…and kept it happy…
I also love you, and am SO excited to reunite, even if only for a bit, very soon!

Oh – I am so excited about that too.
Especially since I am terrible at follow up on our random e-mails.

She is too adorable!!! I think honestly you were just a bit jealous that she took that many cookies to eat the cream out………I think you secretly wanted to be doing that instead of filming!!!! 🙂 Hey, have a wonderful Spring BREAK!!! I am looking forward to seeing your posts!

of course she shouldn't ask to eat that many cookies bc then she wouldn't be allowed to eat that many cookies.

Love it. I feel the same way with Elizabeth. She takes her peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and licks the jelly off first. She also picks the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms. She may look like Dan, but she is ALL Marion.

No, I don't (I am 37, after all)! ha! But a sandwich with a little bit of peanut butter and a lot of jelly was the only way I'd eat PB&J when I was younger.

          Oh Marion. My beautiful friend.
How I wish our kids could lick jelly together and pick out the Lucky Charms and probably cry and maybe even hit one another.
