Bergen Hawkeye,  HomeLife

weekend switch.

A family mish-mash.

A switch.

This weekend kids were all over, in other states and in other homes.

Riley had a splendid experience hanging out with Emma and Jon.

They shopped, cleaned and organized Emma’s house, watched movies and apparently ate large quantities of Italian cuisine.

With a bit of a spur of the moment idea, Mosely was willingly whisked away to have her own adventure with this sweet family.

She returned home with cupcakes, a huge smile and a bazillion stories she has not stopped sharing.  (But sadly, no photo to insert here.)

Our family did not just disperse children, however.

We gained one new guy for the weekend as well.

Colton.

(Emma and Jon’s oldest son.)

He and Berg were non-stop buddies.

What one did, the other had to do as well.

Having Cole here reminded me that it’s not just my kids who I think are hilarious.

Colton was downright amusing himself.

On the drive home, he kept exclaiming loudly,

“You won’t want to miss this.  You won’t want to miss this.  You won’t want to miss this.  Look!  It’s a fence!”

It was less funny (but still pretty cute) when his face was mere centimeters away from mine at 7:30 a.m. sharp both mornings.

I opened my eyes, jumped a little to see eyeballs meeting mine, and heard Cole state, “Hi.  It’s morning now.”

When we had cupcakes for dessert, Cole calmly slurped all of the icing completely from his cupcake and then placed his cupcake neatly down and ate no more.

And when Cole called me in to the bathroom to check things out I said, “You’re done. You did a good job.”

And he looked at me with his serious little expression and said, “No, I didn’t.  I don’t know how this happened.”  Then he held up his index finger to show me that it was covered in … uh … excrement.

(Ah well, it’s probably just some type of cosmic retribution for all the times Emma has kept my children and dealt with their … uh  … excrement.)

And then, before bed, I asked Cole, “Do you need to use the bathroom before bed?”

He said no.

I asked, “Are you sure?”

“Yeah,” he said, “I don’t want to.  I need to but I don’t want to.”

Okay.

Four seconds later.

“I need to now.”

Berg jumped down from the bunk bed behind Cole.

“I need to pee too,” he said.  “Let’s cross streams.”

Cole now booked it to the bathroom too and said, “Yeah, that means you pee at the same time.”

Soo glad you guys were flexible – she just loved loved loved it.

Now London keeps asking, "When can I go?"

Uh-oh – what have we started?

She can come ANYTIME…in fact, thinking about asking you to let them both come for Emmy's bday in Feb. Still working out details, but having a Tangled party that would be so much better with some fun little Keigleys. I'll let you know. I can meet you in Gaffney and get them maybe??
It is so fun that they love each other and are so sweet together. Frankly the distance makes it more of an adventure and a real treat.
