That Movie Viewing List

Sometime recently I mentioned that once a week the kids and I have a movie night featuring a movie (or sometimes a show) that I want the kids to watch.

These are not the usual just-for-fun films that we find ourselves watching too often.

These are movies that serve some other purpose.

Many of you emailed or commented that you’d like to see my list.

Your wish is my command. (When it’s this easy, that is.)

What I have here is a wildly random list of movies and TV shows that have been recommended to me, that I have gathered from other sources, that I’ve occasionally seen that I would like my children to see.

Not necessarily movies and shows I fully agree with – that’s unknown for many since this list is full of films I have never seen, often never even heard of.

More like – movies I want to discuss with my children.

I’ll try to add to this list and keep it here for us all to refer back to.

DISCLAIMER:

  • When I have seen the movie, I’ll star it and maybe even write about it.
  • If I have written a blog post about it, I’ll link it.
  • Lots of these are not appropriate for younger audiences.
  • Use your own best judgement for your family.

Basically, in the kindest and most obvious way I can say it – I’m not responsible for these movie selections. You’re the grown up at your own house.

Definitely send me your suggestions and we can add to this compilation. And, if you know some detail about any of these films that would render them ill-advised, feel free to offer that up to.

Isn’t it great when we can all help one another?
