How To Make Your Children Love You More With One Easy Meal

I thought I left procrastination behind in college.

But I was wrong.

I have an article for another website due on a deadline and I just can’t seem to make myself put my brain in gear and get it done.

I’ve checked Facebook and e-mail and Instagram.  I’m sharing this picture of Bergen thinking math thoughts.

The kitchen is clean.  I paid a bill and I read a friend’s blog post.  I took the dog outside and helped the kids work on a puzzle.  You guys – I even finished the laundry.

And now look at me.

Just sitting here typing a post about how you can be the coolest mom tomorrow at lunch or at dinner.

All it takes are two little words.

Cereal Sundae.

I know, I know.

Remember my genius bit of borrowing and morphing to turn Mother May I? into a viable dinner option that requires no planning and no effort but makes you seem way awesome to your children?

Well, this is another trick up your sleeve, friends.

My mom used to let this be our dinner on Sunday nights sometimes and we kids loved the novelty of it and the pairing of the words — Cereal Sundae ON A Sunday?

It’s so simple.

First – put vanilla ice cream in a bowl.

Second – pour cereal over the ice cream.  Our standard is Honey Nut Cheerios but you can do what you like.  You’re the grown up.

Third – add a little milk.

Ta-Da!

Dinner is served.

Stand back and listen to your children sing praises to your amazingness.

I actually don’t care for cereal.  But I like this because your milk stays so icy cold and that is nice.

(Now that I’ve finished this post and shared this trade secret with you, I’m afraid I have to get back to work.  Boo!)
