Stitch Fix: We Tried It!

I need to write and think about something else.

So.

Stitch Fix it is.

Likely most of you have heard of this service.

But if you haven’t – Stitch Fix is a service where a stylist picks out clothes for you based on information you have submitted about your style and your personal clothing preferences.

The clothes arrive in a perfectly square box at your doorstep. You open the box. You try on the the clothes. You keep any that you like and you return the rest.

They provide an oversized mailing bag with postage and address on it. You put it in your mailbox and off it goes.

It’s seriously as easy as that.

Now – the particulars.

What does it cost?

There’s a $20 fee associated with each order. If you receive your box, dislike everything and send it back in its entirety – Stitch Fix will charge you $20.

However, if you like just one item and only purchase that, the $20 comes out of that cost. So, in other words, if I like the $35 dress and i decide to keep just that item, I would pay $35 for the dress and that would be my entire cost.

Can I try it for free?

Well of course you can. And what better time than right now? Yes – you can try it for free. If you use this code RIGHT HERE then you will get a $25 credit (and so will I so thank you). That means that you can get $25 off your purchase or if you decide you dislike everything and want it all to go away, you can just send it back and have a $5 credit on your account for a future order.

But are the clothes actually cute?

Yes! They’re so cute. So far I have loved almost everything I have received. I have received two boxes. The girls have each received a box too. The only things I think my stylist hasn’t figured out for me yet are my jewelry tastes. So far, I have’t kept any of the jewelry because I haven’t cared for any of it. I have kept two dresses. And – honestly – I would have kept every shirt they sent but I didn’t want to spend all of my dollar bills. Their jeans have been especially cute.

What’s the catch?

There really isn’t one. You can sign up for set deliveries if you want – like a delivery the 15th of every month or a delivery once per season. (Which, I actually think would be the best plan but I am not fan of commitment.)

I personally choose to set up my fix deliveries when I want and just pick a date when I want to try one clothes or have little extra cash.

Anything else to share?

I like to use the app best because it’s sort of like a game – pictures of clothing and a thumbs us if this is your style, thumbs down if you would never wear that.

There’s a space to leave messages for your stylist and to request a new stylist if you don’t think the one you have is working out well.

After you receive your box you have three days to return it. (Although right now, Stitch Fix is allowing that time to be quite bit longer than three days.) And you have a space to let your stylist know what fits and what doesn’t so they can better suit your body.

Plus, if you are feeling so inclined, they offer a pretty significant discount if you purchase every single item in your fix delivery.

You can also special order extra items to be included in you box – pajamas or underclothing. And, if you have a special event coming up, you can let them know what you’re looking for and try that on in the comfort of your home.

I think that’s it!

Again – use this link if you want to try it for free!

What’s the average you spend on a box? If you but the whole box, what kind of price are we talking on average?
