Why I Am Not Writing Tonight

I write my blog posts at night.

Kids are asleep.  (Mostly.)

House is quiet.

I can snack on what I want without sharing.

Messes are easier to ignore in the dimly lit house.

Mornings are not good writing times for me.

I like sleep.

Some kid hears me and wakes up extra early.

Dirty counters look more obvious in the morning light.

But tonight?

Tonight

I am struggling to write anything.

It’s not writer’s block.

(My little brown moleskin is bursting with ideas.)

It’s not the kitchen table that needs to be wiped down from the cookie crumbs after tonight’s family Needletip making event.

(I have a high tolerance for kitchen crumbs.)

Nah.

It’s not any of that.

I seem to have spent my evening letting Mosely teach me about a few angry birds.

And perusing the Apps store as if I even have a firm handle on what an “app” is.

Attempting face time with Amy and David.

And taking loads of unnecessary but addictive photos using an Instagram feature.

Do you know what this means?

It means . . .

everyone can stop listening to me compare notes on whether I should purchase an iPhone or an iPad.

Because today I already made the leap.

To the iPhone.

Which is probably more phone than an amateur like myself needs.

Pretty sure I missed my second-ever iPhone phone call from Emma because

1. I didn’t recognize the beeping noise coming from my bag.

2. Once I did recognize the noise I could not determine how to answer the phone correctly.

3. I was also eating an ice cream cone and driving.

All that to say ,

tonight –

I am playing with my new toy.

(Can I call it an investment?)

Well, of course you are smitten.
It is ridiculous how amazing the little silly phone is.

      And instagram?
      Of course!
The post about my grandmother's cookbook – All instagram photos!

      Love it!

    how funny!!
no. 2 was also giving me trouble – to answer the iphone in my hands (Franks iphone…) 😉

Our family was getting in the car the other night, and Mandy had my phone and accidentally dropped my phone. I watched the battery fly into the far reaches of the garage. Is it bad that my first thought was "I am soooo getting an iPhone now"? Is it bad that I was disappointed that my phone still works?

      Nah.

I was going to wait until July – but my phone kept fading out and dying.

      So.

I did not wait until July.

Very fun!! Enjoy. It's also good for downloading movies that keep the kids quiet in places such as doctors offices. I don't do this. I just knowpeople that do.

ANGRY BIRD! Now that is addictive. That game consumed alot of our family weekend… however it was great bonding time for Morgann and Mike. They played games together most of the weekend. It was really really cute

      Mosely and London love it.
Angry Birds is not as much fun to me – but I found this one call "Slice it" and I like it. hehe

      Okay!
Isn't face time sort of funny though?
Like – after a few minutes, it's like – "Soooo. I need to go because it's weird to just keep looking at you!"

    • LaceyKeigley

      Yes.
      Insanely more so.
Once I figure out to use the features correctly.
Maybe I'll get a tutorial from you next week.
