Letter Number Five (5)

Dear Library,

I am afraid it has come to this.

We’re over.

It’s through.

Your fines are extreme

and reveal to me clearly

my problems

with schedule, routine

and consistency.

I don’t appreciate the way you continually

remind me of my flaws.

And charge me for them,

as well.

We can still be friends.

I’ll stop by every now and then for a free program.

Trust me,

it’s not you.

It’s me.

But I can no longer check out your books.

I cannot commit to visiting you every week.

We just cannot see one another like we used to.

Sincerely,

Me

    Ha ha Tiffany!!
Right now, we're down to using Lexie's card. Mine has a fine on a book we apparently have, but don't have!! I can't wait til Kate gets a card next fall, then we'll have another one to work with.
By the time Jadon is in K5, we'll all be on hold probably and need his card to keep using the library.

    Sigh.
This is why I avoid the library too.

Oh, I am so bad about getting things returned to the library on time. My fines have been enormous in the past. I joke that I keep the library in business. Except, my wallet thinks that jokes isn't so funny.

Ha ha ha!!! It is so difficult returning items on time because they get lost in my home!!!! I have come to this little routine I do for library books……..I count them when I get home and then put the number of books I have to return on the calendar for that date. It seems to help on the late fees!!!! 🙂

That is a great idea G.

Maybe next year the library and I will become friends again and I will try that.

Is your county/city a Dolly Parton Imagination Library area? If so, then you can enroll all the kids under 5 to receive a FREE book a month, that they get to keep! no fines, no returns! that is age appropriate until the age of 5!! Its very fabulous if its in your area! You can find their website online to see if your county/area is enrolled. Plus, its like the library comes to you so you miss out on all the joyous loading and unloading of many small persons and their many items of stuff. Or at least, that's how we refer to it at our house.
