a glimmer …

Sometimes hope looks like …..

a sparkling clean Suburban

an hour spent playing soccer with friends

an unexpected letter in the mail

a kind text

the lyrics to a song

morning cuddles with the softest downy headed fellow

generous children doing their chores without complaints

friends serving up waffles and pancakes for breakfast for my children

a familiar passage of scripture

sunshine and blue skies

    Glimmers of hope

    Shimmering iridescent
    Just out of reach
Oh I need to catch them

    Fingers grasping
    Breathless Running
Oh I need to catch them

    Fluttering butterflies
    Swooping now swarming
Oh I need to catch them

    Tears streaming back
    Arms reaching up
Oh I need to catch them

And little by little I see

    Stop.
    Stop running and stumbling.
    Stop desperately seeking.
    Stop clutching and grasping.
    And
Oh my God, I need only You.
    I.
    Choose.
    Trust.

    We are saved by hope.
    Hope that is seen
    (Or caught)
    is not hope.

    -a worthy and as yet
    unattained goal-

Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

Feel like I’m eavesdropping…on my own thoughts sometimes….don’t know what exactly you’re going through, but praying fervently for you, your family, me, my family, women – sisters in Christ, in the power & wisdom of the Holy Spirit…much love…
