Diaper Free Days Are Ours!

Guess what we no item we no longer purchase and stick in our grocery cart?

Diapers!

Guess what daily routine is no longer mine?

Changing diapers!

Yes.  The last little Keigley baby man is completely potty trained!

We’re talking no diapers.  No night time pull ups.  No anything except the cutest little boxer briefs covering the cutest little boy bum.

It’s amazing, really.

This change in our lives.  This transition.  This spending no budget money on catching and containing kids’ excrement.

It’s glorious.

And that’s true for every family that moves right from daily diaper changes to bathroom freedom.

And for us, for this family, it’s been a daily habit for almost a decade.

It’s true.

We’ve been changing diapers, for some years three bums at one time, for NINE years!

Nine years.

Some people don’t keep the same job for nine years.

But we’ve been buying Pampers and Luvs (and at one time a cheap brand that we renamed Barely Better Than Your Hand) and Huggies for nine years.

I will not average that expense.

I cannot handle the sight of such a large number.

But I do know this.

It’s a lovely existence.

It’s wonderful to be past the one o’clock deposit in a baby’s diaper.

I don’t have to remember the wipes and the diaper in every bag I own.

And, even better, I don’t have to shell over ten bucks every couple of days to the diaper conglomerate or rinse out poop in the cloth diapers we used for a couple of the bums around this house.

And, more importantly, my hands come into contact with a lot less urine and poop.

And that’s always awesome.

This seems a pretty big moment in our lives.

And I think a celebration is in order in some form or fashion.

How should we commemorate this occasion?

This is a real "Christian thing to do" idea for you… but it would be nice… buy a pack of diapers for a family with a little one. You know well how far (or not far) one pack can go. And when people surprise me with diapers… man.. its the best feeling ever. We cloth diaper and use disposables at night and when we go places. I don't like carrying around pee when I'm out an about. And I'm expecting #2, so here's to two more years of diapers!

I love this idea! I know EXACTLY the magic of even having six free diapers appear!

      Thanks for the great idea!
